One of Eurokars Group’s key CSR activities for the year was its support for the Gala of Light which took place on 4 October at Marina Bay Sands.

This charity fundraiser event aimed to celebrate Deepavali while raising awareness and funds for two local charitable organisations – Beyond Social Services and Compassion Fund.

The gala was an evening of glitz and glamour, thanks to a fashion show by famed Indian designer Anita Dongre, who dazzled the audience with her latest design works. Miss Dongre’s philanthropy is celebrated as much as her artistry and success in the fashion world. She has worked with rural artisans in the remote villages of India and played a part in setting up training centres to equip women with essential skills for financial independence.

In addition, the gala also comprised a ‘live’ auction of specially curated dining and travel experiences, among others, as well as an after-party featuring famed Bollywood DJ Suketu who played his unique and signature brand of remixes.

One of the highlights of the evening was a fashion show which showcased the mesmerising creations of renowned designer, Anita Dongre

The two charities are dedicated to helping vulnerable children and youths. Beyond Social Services works with children and youths from less privileged backgrounds, with a mission of helping them to break away from the cycle of poverty. Compassion Fund is a crisis response fund that supports students from low-income families facing a recent death, an illness or an accident involving a family member and resulting in the loss of income. The Fund provides aid during and after the crisis period, with the goal of keeping children in school so they can realise their potential.

In totality, the Gala of Light raised over S$500,000 in the name of good cause for these two charitable organisations.
